Abstract

The article offers information concerning the concept of emptiness and knowledge in Chan Buddhism and Daoism. It notes that Buddhism is considered a problem of knowledge, an idea of emptiness which is an important legacy to Chinese Buddhism especially Chan. An overview of the turning point that defines the Mahayana in a sequence of passages from Lankavatara Sutra is also presented.
